Rules of Pariter Castle
- A person committing any of the crimes; theft, arson, forgery, abduction or rape; will receive a trial by the King, Queen and Court. If found guilty, their punishment will be decided by those three and dealt out immediately.
- A person who has committed murder or is accused of murder, however, will receive trial by the King and Queen alone. If found guilty, the punishment is beheading by axe.
- Alcohol cannot be purchased nor given to any person under the age of 22. The punishment for doing so, is a heavy fine
- Alcohol cannot be possessed nor consumed in the City of Caligo. The punishment is up to three years in prison.
- Cigarettes or any other tabaco product cannot be purchased or given to any person under the age of 18. The punishment is a heavy fine.
- Children under the age of 12 cannot be left unattended outdoors. Children under the age of 10 cannot be left unattended indoors. The punishment is a flogging. If found guilty of multiple counts, the children in question will be taken and fostered elsewhere. And will not be returned.
- Carriages must be black and red or black and gold, be kept well maintained and be checked for damages or malfunctions every five months. The punishment is a heavy fine and can result in confiscation of the the carriage. A white carriage other than a the Royal Penurian carriages, will be dismantled on sight.
- Carriages may not be driven by a person under the influence of alcohol. The punishment is a heavy fine.
- Hunting is freely permitted outside 150 miles of the Capitol; any closer is forbidden. Hunting within 150 miles of the border is punishable by a heavy fine. Within 50 miles of the capitol is one year in prison.
- Fishing boats must be manned by a minimum of four people. The punishment for less, is confiscation of the vessel.
- Siesta time is scheduled at 3 PM everyday; while not mandatory, it is encouraged. It is, however, illegal for any music or loud noises to disrupt it. The punishment is a flogging.
- Discarding trash anywhere but the designated areas is punishable by fines. Doing so near a body of water will result in 2 years in prison. Repeat offenders will be executed.
- The set marriage age of Pariter is 16 for females and 18 for males. Any person may have up to two legally bound partners; if all parties are consenting.
- Those wishing to join the Court at any rank, must be 15 years of age or older.
- Nudity is acceptable at the shoreline and at sea only on cloudy days, but not within city or village limits.Indecency within limits is finable
- The Court’s rulings, whatever rank, are the law and must be obeyed by all ranks, Court or civilian, below. Punishment varies from rank to rank and what offense they have committed.
- Wearing white is punishable by jail-time and a fine.
- It is illegal to deny anyone a glass of water. Doing so is punishable by being deprived of water for three days.
- It is illegal to use profanity in front of a dead body or in a cemetery. This can result in a few days jail-time
- A person may not be seen in public without a smile on their face during a national holiday. Punishable by a small fine.
- No one may catch fish with their bare hands.
- It is against the law to get a fish drunk after catching it.
- Both the King and Queen must be properly addressed as “Your Dark Majesty” at all times.
- All sea turtles must be treated with the same respect one would treat their fellow humans with. Thus; fishing with nets is illegal during their egg-laying season. This is punishable by a confiscation of the vessel the net was thrown from and a heavy fine.
- Any person overheard talking of the King or Queen in a disrespectful or treasonous manner by a member of the Court will be arrested immediately.
- If the first born child of any family in Pariter is male, they must continue to try for another child until they receive a daughter.
Rules of Pariter Castle
- No one may spit on castle grounds.
- Alcohol may not be possessed nor consumed on castle grounds.
- No one is permitted to sit in the throne room, except for the Dark King and Dark Queen in their respective thrones. Everyone else must stand.
- Palace staff are not allowed to enter any of three Royal Chambers while either the King or Queen are within. Unless explicit permission is granted.
- Bulls within castle grounds, must be greeted properly and treated with respect.
- Palace staff must remain in their quarters after the King has retired, unless they be aiding the Queen.
- While not illegal by law; people should disturb the King’s siesta at their own risk. There are many gruesome tales of what fate has befallen those who have done so in the past.
- Do not mispronounce the Queen’s name.
